This is a small devotion to the little big blessings that sometimes come when everything seems to go wrong.

It feels like spiritual bypassing to universalize the idea that “everything happens for a reason!” But, in my own life, telling myself that things are working out in my favor is a way to keep me from losing my shit when life happens (and life always happens, right?)

So, whether or not you believe in a bigger plan (trust me, I’m conflicted too), I hope you enjoy this brief ode to the unexpected.

Last Friday, to see perhaps the most incredible full moon of my life, so many things had to go “wrong."

My Friday flight was cancelled and rescheduled for the following day.

I unexpectedly run out of potable water at home.

The water company did not respond to my request to deliver my water order that day.

I left the house to walk to buy water an hour and a half later than I had planned, missing my much-loved golden hour.

I made a wrong turn on the way back from buying said water.

Everything that could have killed me in every moment leading up to this very moment in time.
